tempting...

Am I the only one who finds this tempting? I have heard of many of these that actually have good stuff in it. I probably don't hear of the junkers, as those people probably dont' want to be identified!

HHMMMMMM.....

Tempting?

I've reached out for the apple, but I've yet to take a bite.

If there is a SB-1 or SC-1 focusing screen in there, let me know. If there's an LX in there, we're all coming to get you. LOL

Beat me to it.

I was so torn since the shipping to Canada was so high.

Good luck... seller says he will post another shortly.

Be sure to let us know what was inside.

Well, if it's a FA31 Limited, he's getting nothing but 5's from me.

You're a brave man Eric! That $25 could have put 20 minutes worth of gas in your car!

Here we go...

The mystery package arrived today. It came in a big box and it was heavy. My wife brought it in and said "Somethings rattling inside. I think it's broke."

I prefer the Rocky Horror version to Carly Simon...

So come up to the lab
And see what's on the slab
I see you shiver with antici...pation

Ooooh, looky...

Just a little peek...

Hmmm, no Pentax boxes on top, but it's full...

What was rattling around. A few Pentax packages in there...

Some of the stuff...

The seller obviously just threw a bunch of stuff in a box, not just Pentax stuff. All the rattling my wife heard was the loose glass filters in the bottom of the box. Some of them were in their cases, but many were not. It appears the loose filters were in small sizes, I'm guessing for use on an enlarger. At least a dozen boxed filters in various sizes from a company called Ednalite. There were also a lot of step-up or step-down rings in all sorts of sizes. Bunches and bunches of end caps, lens caps, and body caps. Some really old packaging of Kodak cleaning paper, I'm guessing from the 50's, judging from the prices and packing material.

Several accessories for a Vivitar 3900 flash. A gadget for making composite photos (pre-Photoshop variety). A large grip that I'm not sure how to operate. A flash cord for a sunpak flash. There was a box labeled "Canon AF Converter". That one got my hopes up, thinking about the Pentax 1.7x AF Converter. Sadly this is just an ugly lump of plastic with a cheap-looking lens in front. Probably for a Point and Shoot.

There were a few useful bits in there. Some of boxed filters included a Hoya 82A, a 52mm Quantarray CPL, and some Vivitar cooling filters. Funny enough, one of them is a Hoya HMC, in the exact size that I ordered less than 24 hours ago from CameraFilters.com. A step up ring or two in sizes I could use. The inserts for a lumiquest big bounce. A 62mm rubber lens hood. A wacky lens tube that goes over the back of the camera--shame it's too small for the DA*16-50. Oh, and a FA 31 Limited.

It was fun, but mostly useless. The kids had fun digging through it looking for treasure. It was worth the $25 + $8 shipping to get it here, just for the fun. Thanks for the tip, Tom!

Who's going to order the next box?
