Unfortunately I did the reverse. I was actually thinking of voting for #4 (which looks like it will be the winner) but read RAZZphotographic's comments and changed my mind. My wife, without any outside interference, felt #4 looked unreal. Now I don't object to processing, EVERY photo I take passes through PSP-11. But Stevebrot says the exif data shows extensive processing.

But what do we know... My wife and I did not like the winning portrait of the young girl. Once we saw the original photo it was obvious that the child does not look at all like the final image. OTOH professionals often touch up faces. Our wedding photos made us look like we had perfect complexions.

First, thank you!

As this was my first contest on Pentax forums, I submitted a photo that would show me how things work on this forum. So, in fact, it was a test. Generally I think that my photo is overprocessed, but in a way that photoprocessing is going these days. Some will like, some not, but that's the way with any photo.
This photo was taken with K 10D and DA 16-45 with circ. polarizer and ND8 filter attached, on tripod of course. Five photos of different exposition, as intended for high dynamic range merging. Above is, let's say, original, and beneath is processed:

Some will like above one, and many will like the one beneath it.
For those that would like to see the photos from that shooting, link is here:

And location is here :

Once again, thnx to all, and forgive me for bad english, if any

I voted for 4 but now that you posted the "original" I like it better than the processed one.

That is an excellent photo, Kresica; congratulations on winning!

I look at it this way: If a woman looks prettier wearing makeup, do we tell her,"take it off, it's not your real face?"

To each his/her own.

Thanks for the details! I figured you had done some HDR work and am impressed with the results. Congratulations on the win!

Kresica,

I enjoyed your photo page. Good work, far better than I can do.
