How 'bout it! When I posted my picture, I was like, "Wow, this isn't too bad of a shot." And now when I see the rest (which are really nice), I think, "Crap...(as in, there goes my chances)"

In any event, good luck to everyone.

Some really great ones. It will be nice to get some stories behind them afterwards.

so many in one place, I think its too confusing with all the images listed like that. Its easier if you have thumbnails because you get an overview.

I voted earlier but just looked through them again and found a really good one that I had missed the first time, that would have gotten my vote.

Maybe even some ellimination round would have narrowed it down more.

I could easilly reduce the number of images just by removing the ones that are obviously just snapshots without much thought (someone walking in a mountain with a camera, stops up, lifts up the camera, snaps a shot in some direction, continues walking). And some didnt fit the theme imo, and a couple that were technically not good eanough.

you mean a first round after which only 3 stay in the contest and then a final round amongst the best 3 pics? it might be just too much work for the admins who are already doing a great job in organising these contests!

Yes I agree the way its done it would be too much work. If we had some software to do it then it would be easy though Well my main complaint was that it is a bit confusing the way over 40 pictures are just listed like that.

I think having thumbnails would improve it, because then u can see all the images on maybe 2 screens worth of space and you get the overview.

Question

I just had a quick question that isn't intended to offend anyone here....

Did anyone else think that this challenge was demographically biased? I was lucky enough to live near mountains and was able to submit something I was happy with.

I just couldn't help but feel that if someone wasn't near mountains, they were at some sort of disadvantage.

Any thoughts, feelings, opinions or observations?

HA! That's a surprise!

Hi All!

At first, as the pictures were slowly loading (on dial-up here. 40 - WOW!) I was trying to remember what the theme of the challenge was for this month. Then I remembered - Mountain Scenery. Then, low and behold, I found one of my photos in the mix. HA! I'd forgotten that I'd entered!

....jus wanna say it's been fun participating in this with all you guys (and gals)...some great stuff here. Started out making selections this a.m. and narrowed it down to 9....later did a recheck, and narroed it down to 17...go figure!......my feeling here is that there really aren't any bad photos here..perhaps a few more technically developed than some others, but all are well taken phots....congrats to everyone, can tell its gonna be a tough choice......

Wow ... I had forgotten what I was going to vote for at the end of the listing ... I had to look again through them all.

Not easy at all .... but I eventually voted ... was hard just choosing 3 though.

Awesome shots in there BTW.

Kinda puts me off entering other comps as I know I don't have a chance against some of the better photographers on here.
