Cannot read image files

I am not able to read the pictures I took today at my daughters High School Graduation. While I was taking pictures I was able to review them. Toward the end of the ceremony I started getting this message “ camera cannot display this image”. I am using a K10 and have not had this issue before. Now all of the shots from the ceremony are not readable and have strange file names like: HE@%516.DJor I3003.BG. What is also strange is that I am able to read some test shots I took after I discovered this issue. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I might be able to recover the files?

This looks like a faulty SD card.
There is plenty disk recovery software around.
I've got SanDisk RescuePRO 3.0 here at home, it came with a card.
I could send you a copy if you want...

It's 28 Mbytes compressed.

I bought a SanDisk Extreme III and it had the Rescue Pro software included - most importantly it worked! Thx for your suggestions.
