What size ?

Hi all

I have been asked to supply some images for an authoring dvd.
I don't want to give them the full resolution images.
What size should I resize the images and pixels for the images to be perfect on DVD but not more ?

Thanks

OK this is easy. DVDs are authored, in your region, to PAL standard definition 720 by 576 pixels. NTSC SD is 720 by 480 pixels for USA and Canada.

That's the most common, but actually the DVD standard (for "PAL") includes both 720 x 576 and 704 x 576 for 16:9 aspect ratio and 352 x 576 and 352 x 288 for 4:3 ratio.

For NTSC they go accordingly 720 x 480, 704 x 480, 352 x 480 and 352 x 240.

But as Garth said, in practice it's 720 x 576 for "PAL" (which means actually just the colour coding and is really 625i50 or the same presented in a different way 576i50).
