I always find these price discussions interesting. There are large economies of scale to consider. The USA has a large population and is the market most companies fight harder over. In terms of prices, more importantly, is a vast difference in political differences and taxation. Outside the USA many of us (EU/Canada etc.) all pay for the 'free' services we get in higher taxes. Medical care is one of them. In the US, you're totally on your own and if you look at the debate there right now about the 47 million people that have no health care coverage, you can understand why we pay more for some things. I'm glad I don't have to pay $400+++ a month to go to a hospital (even if the Canadian system isn't as good as it could be).

for those who have insurance it depends in many cases on the plan that you have... just an example (not a rule) I have
insurance through my employer : 2 people = USD $200 / month _before_ taxes = PPO, dental,
vision, prescriptions = USD $15/copay for a doctor , USD $0/ for hospital or outpatient.
Not to turn this into a huge discussion about health care but that's a pretty good rate I assume and I bet the employer has to match that. So I pay more for a lens once in awhile and don't have to shell out $2400.00 a year to get health coverage. Everyone pays somehow, just in different ways.
well, employer pays in fact 1.5 that much - but it will not pay me extra money
if I to pay the full price myself... advantage also is that I can pay before taxes w/o any hassles as W2 (that is what is being called "cafeteria 125 plan" in the States) and the cost through the group plan is less...
you can say that I am getting less money in salary because my employer has to provide the benefits... true to some extent.

I was working in Chicago, and the best health insurance I could find was out of England at (depending on the exchange rates) US$460 each month.

It appears that CC has no plans to keep the 360 stocked, and is dumping it whenever they find any in the warehouse to get rid of it ASAP. (The fact that it had no entry on the website at all for 3-4 weeks indicates that this $92 clearance is some sort of super-firesale to free up warehouse space.)

I don't think they have any left to clear - although they let you go all the way through to the Checkout, and show a $92.34 price, you can't actually Check Out because they don't have any.
Don't these price reductions possibly indicate that an imminent replacement model for the existing AF360FGZ is now on the cards......preferably with an improved rotating / swivelling mechanism similar to that found on the AF540GZ ?
Best regards
Richard

Only CC is doing this, and they've never been a big Pentax vendor.
In fact, it seems that they somehow are forced to carry Pentax but CLEARLY do not want to actually sell anything from Pentax - Check out their price on the K20D...
