Flash Nissin pZ40i.For pentax

Has anyone use this model of flash as one has come up locally for AU$120 and just wanted opinion from others in the know?

Is it suitable?

Will it do the same job as the original Pentax

If not how so

cheers

I do think Nissin make very good brake calipers for motorcycles.

Kind find too much info on the flash, though.

I had this flash for a short while. Bought it not knowing that it is not P-TTL compatible. So yes, you can use it on your Pentax DSLR but in manual mode. I do not remember all the features, but I think it had power zoom, manual power output setting, bounce and swivel. It was a pretty decent flash but for ~115 USD, I think it is slightly overpriced. There was a deal here for the Pentax 360 flash for $150. But it might be a different case in Australia.

I had this flash for quite some time, sold it only about 3 weeks ago. I found it to be a very useful flash. I used it my K10d without any problems. It doesn't have a wireless (slave) facility but over and above the 360 which I now have, it has a 360 deg rotating head. It does not have a built in diffuser like many other flash units have.
It does have TTL in a limited capacity, so for an economic purchase, I feel you could do a lot worse than this flash.

The battery door, incidently, is far more secure and solid than the flimsy one on the Pentax 360 flash.
