SDHC Cards

Can anyone tell me if SDHC cards are compatible with Pentax ist DL2? I can't find any reference in the manual and I have seen a 4Gb SDHC high speed 118x for only £23.99 - almost too good to miss.

You need the firmware upgrade to 1.02. This revision of firmware is ready for SDHC cards.

Hi Alfie1965,
I am not sure what 118x means. I only know that there are classes with SDHC (but I am not an expert in this).
My recommendation:
Do not buy anything below class 6. Several peple warned here and elsewhere for a 8 gb class 2 from Transcend. Too slow.

Hi Jacob
it says the card is class4 which is equivalent to a Sandisk extreme II apparently.
Thanks for the advice, I am currently using a basic sandisk sd card 1gb this is not an extreme II and it's fast enough for my requirements, so I am assuming the SDHC will be as fast or faster please correct me if I am wrong!

Hi,

I have a DL with the new firmware and bought a normal Sandisk SDHC 4Gb Class2, and make some test agaist a Sandisk ExtremeIII 1GB and Kingston Ultimate 1GB, and found the times for clean the buffer of the camera after a burst of 3 RAW pictures almost the same.
Oh another thing, the new card reader that came with the card is much faster than mine built in reader of my Thoshiba laptop that was also fast for me.
