K10D usb cable

Does anyone know what kind of designation this USB cable has? This was one dissapointing part of the K10D package, as I had no USB cables like the one supplied with the camera. I tried looking for one but did not find it, I'd prefer to have more than one cable for the K10D. Does anyone know another name it goes by in stores? Or if it's sold seperately somewhere? I found one on ebay but I'd prefer picking it up somewhere local, if I can.

My question is why would you want an extra cable. I bought a Lexar SD 2gig 133x and it came with a SD reader. Much smaller to carry, don't need the camera and can be found for cheap just about anywhere. I am not sure if Pentax made their cable to the mini USB standard but I doubt it is different as the cable is the same as their Optio line and that cable is the same as IPod uses. These are available in store under USB type A male to mini USB type B male or mini USB 4P male.

Well, I like having the ability to dump pictures if I'm on the road onto a computer. And I don't have any cables like this one for the K10D, if I were to misplace the current cord- I'd be up the creek. Unless I had a card reader or something, it's just about personal preference.

I'm the same way. I keep the pentax cable in my bag in case I need to dump some photos on the road or at work and leave another mini-usb cable from my p&s panny plugged into the comp at home.

You should be able to pick one up at a computer shop or maybe radio shack.

I have an extra I picked up for my office. I'm thinking I got it from Circuit City.
