Can I use this flash with my K100D?

One of my friends who owns a K1000 loaned me his AF160 Flash to try out. I don't know if it will work with my camera. I don't want to short out his flash or my camera. Any ideas?

Don't worry with such an old flash you can't burn the camera nor flash.

If you have a multimeter set it to DC (0-12v range or so) and put one point on the middle pin at the bottom of the flash and one point on the side of the flash where it meets the upper part of the metal shoe when inserted into the camera. With the flash powered on you should get a voltage reading. That is the trigger voltage. Anything more then a certain amount is bad. Some say 20v is the limit others say less but if it is more then 20v I'd not use it without a wireless or optical trigger (isolates voltage).

I forgot to follow up on this. I got around to testing the flash last week. It works!! I'll be testing this with my kit lens and 80-200 later tonight if I can.
