Point & Shoot Contest #24 - "The Best View From My Place"

1. ANY camera other than a slr/dslr is eligble.
2. Entries will end on Sunday October 9, 2009 20:00 EST. (-5:00 GMT)
3. Maximum image dimensions are 800 X 800 pixels.
4. List camera BRAND and MODEL with entry for all to see.
5. List the name of the place, the City/State and Country where the pic is taken.
6. Maximum of 3 photos per photographer.
7. Post processing is fine.
8. Winner will set up and judge next contest.
9. Remember to have fun

I wondered about that. But the rule maker of this series said:
1. ANY camera other than a slr/dslr is eligble.
So I assumed he was overriding the original theme because why exclude SLR/DSLR cameras. But in reality, I did point the camera and shoot. Just not very fast. ;-)

"ANY camera other than a slr/dslr" is quite clear and very unambiguous. The author put stress on the word "ANY." Read it out loud that way. I don't think there is much room for interpretation.
This has angered some in the past. Me? I'm a strict constructionist. I'll go with original intent and live with it.
