So, if you set the language to English, the default image tone is "Bright". Definitely should help with Phil!
Its likely Pentax's way to cater for a geographical market preference.
They may have found their Japanese market prefers "Natural" setting.
Most other users seem to prefer the punchier output from jpegs on "Bright" setting.
I think they are alluding to DP reviews' Phil Askey or Phillip Greenspun at Photo.net.

Ah, got it now, guys. I wonder if this is just a humorous coincidence or an indication Phil's review irritated Pentax as well. We'll probably never know, but it's funny nonetheless.

Please, change this setting in the next firmware update to:

and implement British english as a seperate language.
and if you have no idea how to do British, in that case please change this setting to:
*2 [Bright] when [Language/ ] is set to a language other than Japanese and Dutch.

but, as mentioned by somebody here, the joke's on us all (except the japanese pentaxians). but than again, "who cares about jpeg"? i mean, it's the k10d/k20d ...
