Help me understand FF/BF a little...

I'm not happy with my K10D's ability to focus, however as some of my pictures ARE in focus at the point I chose, am I right in assuming that's not a BF problem?

One day I'll get around to doing a ruler test!

thanks... I hadn't read that thread as I thought it was going to be K20d specific. Will print chart and put this behind me once and for all!!!
