Help! K10D AF broken?

Edit: Firmware v1.30.

This problem showed up earlier today, then disappeared for a few hours, but now it's back. When I try to use AF-S or AF-C, the focus will try to seek back, then forward... occasionally will do this a couple times... and then report a focusing error. This happens on my Tamron 90mm and my Sigma 10-20mm, so I'm guessing it's not a lens problem. I took a look at the mount and the lenses, and there doesn't seem to be anything obviously wrong with the connections (dirt, corrosion, grease, etc).

Toggling between AF-C/S and MF doesn't make much difference. In MF mode, the focus 'beeps' correctly, so it seems to recognize focus properly, it's just not communicating properly with the lens.

Has anyone seen this before? Am I basically going to need to send my K10 in to Pentax?

Sounds like it may need to go back for repair.

I just sent my K20D back under warranty for a focusing sensor problem.

I hope it gets sorted out for you soon.

Okay, my K10D is boxed up and in UPS's hands, on its way to Pentax Service

I called them this morning and the CSR agreed it was most likely a problem with the body.

One thing I didn't know about service... she said that when I got my camera back, it would have a brand new 1-year factory warranty!

Almost worth sending it in Now let's just see if the "expedited service" I paid for is expeditious or not.

You get a 1-year factory warranty even if they don't fix anything? Or only if they do work on it?

She didn't specify any conditions. She just said:

"...and when you get your camera back, it will have a new 1-year factory warranty."

I thought it was only on the parts and service they fixed, not the whole body.
