Pentax DSLR DiscussionTalk about Pentax Digital SLR technique here, including the *ist D series, the K100D series, and the K10D, K20D, and K200D models.
I really want to change the focusing screen for my K200D. The only thing I don't like about my K200D is the viewfinder and even with the O-ME53 I find it difficult to manual focus. I know with practice I will get better but I find myself using old manual lenses more often, but still getting a lot of shots with the main subject out of focus.
I've seen a lot of focus screen advertised/mentioned for the K10 and K20, but haven't come across many for the K200. I'd like to find what is available for the K200 and I'd really like to hear from someone who has changed the focusing screen in their K200.
I like the older split prism screens like those from the ME and Super Program, so something like those would be great.

I have the Katz Eye screen for the k10 and asked katz Eye if it fit the K200. Their answer was no that the screens are not compatible. There is a size difference.

hmmm... I was thinking that K200D was just K10D body minus one wheel, etc...

Thanks all. I thought the k200d and k10d were different because the k200 has the penta-mirror and the k10 the penta-prism viewfinder. The main thing the 2 share is the sensor!
I'd still like to hear from some with experience in changing the focusing screen, either in the k200 or k100 (they share the same body). Has anyone tried the focusing screens from ebay? The Katz eye one ones look good but you pay for it.
