Unbelievable sensor dust (anyone know who shot this pic?)

While browsing pics at pentax photo gallery, (voting), I found this picture.

I can't believe the amount of sensor dust. What is amazing, is that the owner of this pic submitted it for evaluation at PPG.

Since I found it while in the voting window, I cannot know who is the owner.

Anyone here know who is it? Please, advice this person to clean the sensor.

I think it brings something to an otherwise mundane image - for one thing it is the only part of the image in focus. I think the image maker/artist is wanting to draw a connection to the fading of earths natural spaces and the increasing damage that humankind is inflicting on the natural world.

i dont have a single lens that would flare that much, so it makes you wonder if he is shooting through something... like an airplane window, or a very cheap lens/camera

Pic specs claim *istD with FA 28-80 F3.5-5.6. Perhaps its from a plane window and those dust specs are not in sensor but in the actual window. I presume he/she used the closest aperture which would render window defects in focus.

Actually, the picture is of a crap load of UFO's invading the earth. They look small because the are so far away.

I didn't read the header close enough and when the photo appeared on my screen, I made an attempt to wipe the monitor!

I think it might be the airplane window. Those things are dirty

Good thing about dirty windows is that if you're taking a picture of something that's far away (like, say...the Sun), the dirt spots on the window disappear because they're out of focus.

See this, also taken from an aeroplane window.

He's probably an Australian.....

I sent my k100d to CR Kennedy, the Australian distributor for a sensor clean. I sent it with a couple of spots of dust, it came back with a sensor even dirtier than the one above! I only use local camera stores now.

Good 3d effect. I thought my monitor had something on it at first.

unless the camera focused on the window

notice how blurry the mountains are, and how flared the sun is.
