the 2 wheel control is important to some
This and the better viewfinder will definitely make some prefer it even at a somewhat higher price.
the lens & software, etc is a generation older vs the K200D.
Well, if you are buying body only, there is no difference in lens. As for software, yeah, some find the K200D JPEG engine better. If you shoot RAW, there really shouldn't be much difference, especially if you get a truly new K10D - older ones had some issues with vertical pattern noise. Menu-wise, I don't think you could realistically claim the K200D was enough of an improvement to negate the value of the extra buttons and so forth on the K10D, thus eliminating the need to use the menus at all. Of course, I never use the menus on the K200D, either. It just isn't necessary if you always use the same AF mode and the same metering mode.
For me, you'd have had to make the K10D considerably *cheaper* than the K200D for me to have chosen it. Because the smaller body and AA batteries were worth quite a bit to me, as well as the fact that it is a currently supported model. But I realize I am in the minority in valuing these things more than the extra buttons & larger viewfinder.
