K10D vs K100D AF

I just picked up a K100D as a backup and threw my 28-75mm Tamron it and it seems to AF faster. Is there anyone out there with the same gear and test this. One caveat, my K10D has no focus screen at the moment, it broke and I have a LL-80 and LL-60 on order and they should be here this week. Would no focusing screen change how the AF works?

I'm pretty certain not having a focusing screen would affect the AF.

By the way, how do you like the 28-75 on the K100D?

28-75mm

So far it seems really good. The K100d seems alot warmer at AWB than the K10D.

That's good to know. Sorry for moving the discussion away from your original question.

God help us all if the 10D is slower than the 100D. I think your 10D needs it's screen back.

Actually, doesn't the focus screen only affect exposure? I believe the auto-focusing mechanism works by redirecting light using an auxiliary mirror, and bypasses the focus screen.
