Auto focus seems slow, off focus after repair

I'm not a real pro at this yet. So there's a lot here I might be missing. I've got a K10 with a FA35mmF2AL lens on it.
Had the auto focus drive ( screw, whatever) fixed recently. Sent it into Pentax in Colorado. Had a lot of trouble with them taking a long time to fix it even though I had paid the rush order fee. They got it back to me a bout a week overdue and eventually did refund my rush fee. But I've since wondered if , after I started complaining, somebody might have told the repair people to just get it done quick ( don't sweat all the fine tuning, etc) and ship that camera out. Who knows.
Since, I've gotten it back, it just seems less crisp and responsive. Even with all kinds of in the menu compensation for the soft focus . I shoot at my dogpark, and it's true that since I'e gotten it back , it's been cloudy a lot , and the sun is going down earlier so that I'm not up there in my shutter speed, and I'm often way down in the f3.5 or f2.8 range, shutter speed : around 250, sometimes 180. I try and seep my iso between 200 - 400, sometimes 800. Often shooting in TAV mode.
I've read about the focusing being off a barely discernable bit sometimes. Front focus, back focus.
Also : how putting on a different lens , like my : FA35mmF2AL necessitates an adjustment that can only be done in the shop with a K10 - the K20 allows this to be done in the camera by the user.
Wonder what the exact test of this would be ?
Any ideas what I should do.
