K20D now cheaper again

Pentax USA has dropped the list price of the K20D to just under $1000. That is the price B&H would like to sell you the body.
Adorama have discounted it to $900.

In the UK SRS Microsystems and Warehouse Express have the price set at £579. And in Europe the usually competitive cameraNU.nl have targeted €719 whicle AC-Foto beats that at €696. This translates to $950, demonstrating that prices in Europe are not always exorbitant compared to the USA.

$950 including taxes or $950 plus taxes ? and who needs to buy camera body from B&H or Adorama - unlike w/ lenses it is much safer to buy camera bodies from 2nd tier vendors for less money...

With the Aussie Dollar tumbling perhaps you should look at buying from Australia.

Pentax K20D @ $1,113 AUSD (Not including GST) equates to only $770.33 USD or €566.38 EURO

Including taxes. Generally that's the way it's done in the EU, except for B2B transactions.

I was merely supplying a price benchmark using some standard sellers, not recommending you buy from them.

Raider, I don't know. With the drop in the AUD, I expect it to rise. I'm in Brisbane and I ordered a K20D (body only) for $1225 AUD + $16.01 Ansett Air Express from Digital Camera Warehouse . I ordered it last Sunday and it arrived on Tuesday.

Not sure if this helps at all, but I can sell them through my work for $910.00 with the 18-55 II lens. My company is not an authorized reseller of Pentax, but we can get most anything through the channel.

Still >$1000cad haven't seen much of a drop this side but the K200D has taken a fall for ~$800 you can get a K200D 2 lense kit

Is the unit u get from digital camera warehouse a good copy? Any problems u find so far?

It seems a good one. The first photo I shoot on Tuesday evening with the Mk. II kit lens (I'd already bought that for the K100D Super) looked impressive. Have now got a 2nd-hand DA 16-45/F4 and it looks even more so.

The only negative I can see is with "M" lenses. Like the K10D, the K20D does not handle the exposure determination as well as the K100D series. Will know more this week-end when I do some serious prime lens shooting.

I have just bought the K20D with a 8gb card and some other random items (hard case, bag, slave flase, crappytripod...) for 909 USD new-10% ebay fall coupon- 200USD cash back from microsoft live= 618 usd. I think that I score a good one. Let us see how does it arrives. Prodigital had it at 800USD but cashback couldnt apply to it. Cameta had it at 829 and cashback didnt work with it neither.

It looks like the price is better than I was expecting for this time of the year.
