The DA-L is optically identical to the DA II. The differences are just in the build. The lack of quick shift would be a bigger deal to me than the plastic mount.

It isn't a big deal for me since it is the lens I put on the camera when I am going about my daily business, walking around the city in good light etc. But I can see how it would be a deal breaker for some folks.

Congrats on a nice camera - I use the 21, 35 and 70mm on mine, with pleasing results.

It is really fun to use, isn't it
