Good news, I think. I doesn't sound like Hoya has any interest in serving Pentax SLR customers. Now I regret having bought that Hoya filter last week.

The bigger news to me is that the merger was cancelled. I hadn't heard that. Let's hope the buyout fails. I would rather be with a small company that respects it's customer than a big one that doesn't. A freindly merger may have provided the best of both worlds, but a takeover is likely not to. I guess we'll wait and see.

looks like the immediate merger is off,
