K10D is getting cheaper!

I just did a PriceGrabber search for the K10D body. There are FOUR stores that have it for under $820 shipped!!!! Beach Camera is one of those stores! Check it out!

Could this mean that the next version is coming out sooner than expected?

If they increase the fps to around 5 I will wait to get mine.

[and since this is my first post... hello forum)

Beware the cheapest Price

Some of those stores wont sell you unless you buy an overpriced lens, tripod, bag or card with the body. They call you on the phone after you buy and try to sell you the extra crap and won't ship unless you buy other items from them. Pay the extra money and buy from B and H.

I have to agree, but based on comments, I took a chance last year and bought an *ist DL from Beach Camera / Buydig.com ($386 after rebate!), and they just shipped out the camera no problems. I just sold my DL since K100D's are so cheap now ($473 after rebate). I had such a good experience last time that I ordered my K100D just last night and already received a FedEx tracking number.

Got a 43mm LTD from B&H, since Beach didn't stock it, but I'd definately go through Beach again.

There absolutely are such stores and they are well known! I ignore those as a rule. Beach Camera, BuyDig or Abe's of Main are just as respectable as B&H.

By the way, those dishonest type of stores are advertising bodies for $75 less but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

The identical Samsung version (the GX-10) is now available in the USA. That'll bring the Pentax price down.

Haven't heard any talk of the new K10D from P yet. Seems a little soon to me. They are still having a tough time supplying them.
SRT-202, welcome to the forum. That is one tough camera. Remember it well. Dad had one after the spotmatic. Wish they hadn't put the meter on/off switch on the bottom. Always replacing batts.
thanks

K110D body down to $389

After rebate at Beach. That is the lowest I've seen it from a reputable store. I'm still going to hold out until the final announcement about the Hoya deal. I don't need to buy it for another 60 days, maybe it will drop another $50.

Regards,

OOPS! I meant the K100D is down to $389.

Prices dropping? You bet!

As of today Beach and Adorama at Amazon will sell you the K10D for $820. Beach will soak you $24 for shipping on top of that; Adorama will ship for free. Score one for Adorama.

Choose Amazon's credit card offer on your way out the door and get a $30 credit for something else at a later date (you can always use it once and then cancel the card/chop it up, y'know). $820... not bad. Shop around a bit and you can find similar deals, sometimes with a memory card or other goodie thrown in.

I read something once about Amazon giving credit for prices that drop within 30 days after purchase. That's an interesting idea, but if true I would suspect it deals only with stock purchased directly through Amazon rather than one of their associated stores.

For Canadians, don't bother phoning Beach directly to get free shipping they offer if you purchase direct - they'll take your order right up to the point where you give them a Canadian credit card. Then they just say "we don't take Canadian cards" and hang up on you... sheesh...

Very similar, but there are some differences as you can read in this link
PentaxLife » Samsung GX-10 vs. Pentax K10D

Pentax has treated me pretty good, so I'll stick with them.
