K-7 lens-correction delay -- non-interrupting!

I was a bit concerned when I learned that the in-camera lens correction features introduce a several-second delay. But I got my K-7 today, and was pleased to discover that while this delay blocks "chimping" — you can't play back your images — you can go on shooting all you like. Actually taking pictures isn't blocked at all.

I remember somewhere reading it may slow down frame rate.

It creates a processing bottleneck and stops the camera from shooting more than 5 frames in a burst. After that, it acts like as if the buffer is full.
