How to separate images taken for HDR, multi exposure etc quickly?

Hi!
I was just taking some multi exposure, HDR and similar images and was wondering if there is a quick way to separate say the 5 HDR images I took from the multiexposure ones that I took next etc.
I ended up taking a photo of my hand between each group lol

Your picture of a hand is a good idea - I've heard of using 1 finger to start a series, two fingers to end the series.

I never think of it, so I have the camera set to auto expose in order, from underexposed to overexposed (-2, -1, 0, +1, +2) so the start and stop is obvious. I got confused when I tried using the default settings which start at 0 as I recall.

Yeah the sequence helps but gets messy when you start doing different types of images in the same session.
I like that 1 finger 2 finger idea too. :-)

It helps when you remember to do it.

It's a good idea for panoramas too.

It's little tips like this that make this forum such a pleasure to belong. I've often puzzled over this, but sheesh with digital what are a couple of extra frames among friends. Thanks guys.

Funny, I use both of these myself. Exactly my two suggestions.

I also use a full hand with fingers splayed when I blow a sequence and need to throw away a sequence. When i see this on the last n frames in the sequence i know that sequence is trash. hope that's clear...

There is no way to do this.
Only if you take separate photos and combine them on PC.

There is a preference in Lightroom to stack photos taken within $time of each other. Was probably designed for burst shots, but should probably work for this as well if you up the $time.
