k-7 rebate?

saw on amazon that they are offering an instant $100 rebate on the k-7 to a total of 1100. The Pentax Store lists the same discount though their total is $1200. Now if they would combine the rebate with last weeks pricing (bringing the total to around 1k), that would be interesting...er tormenting

from the Amazon website:
$100 Instant Rebate
For a limited time, save $100 instantly on the Pentax K-7 when you buy from Amazon.com. Price shown includes manufacturer's instant rebate. Offer valid through October 31, 2009.

The way I read it, it is "instant rebate."

Instead of officially dropping the price, Pentax uses this trick.

So you can't really "combine the rebate with last weeks pricing."

I'm still waiting....

Amazon's price has been sitting at $1100 since the weekend, but at that time, it didn't list the instant rebate, even though places like B&H and Adorama started showing a $100 IR. It's as if the Amazon price didn't budge.

The week prior to 10/1, Amazon price was yo-yoing around $1150.

BestBuy gives you a $100.00 gift card if you order the K7 from thier website.

BestBuy charges 90 something dollars for tax when you get a K7 through them.

So, you actually end up with less than 10$

I mocked up an order at BHphoto and there was no tax charge unless I lived in NY.
