Which sandisk Extreme III sd card for K-7? The 133x version or 200x version?

I am trying to get a 8GB sandisk extreme III card for the K-7 but there are 2 versions. The 133x version (A$62) and the 200x version (A$107). While I know that the faster the card is, the better it is for the camera but would the 133x version be sufficient for the K-7, both for still pictures (at 5.2FPS) and for video? If so, I can get 2 of the 133x cards. Appreciate for some comments.

133x. Only certain devices with with the 200x 30 MB/s specification - it's proprietary. Without those devices, it will work just like the 133x. The Nikon D90 and the sandisk card reader are the only two I remember.

So you won't notice faster buffer clearing times - and it will work just fine for video/5.2fps

I'm using the 30MB/s version and it's fine for photo and video. I had trouble shooting video on slower cards but I haven't tried the slower extreme III SD cards on it.

I use the 30mb/sec Sandisk Extreme III 16GB SDHC card with 30mb/sec Sandisk SDHC reader for fast uploads.

Well these responses are'nt up to par with most other threads i have read...The quetion asked, I think, is :

If I need to buy a new memory card, and go for a Sandisk Estreme 30mb/s (200x), will the Pentax K-7 take advantage of the extra speed (for photo and/or video) OR is the estra speed lost because the K-7 isn't built for ti and thus I should go for the slower Sandisk Exteme cards (at 133x)

Thanks Mr Eruditass, must have read the thread to fast, or too late..

Market wise, how do I know if the card is 133 or 200x, is in on the box?

I have a 4 GB Sandisk Extreme III 30 MB/S Compact Flash card in my old istD. I'm sure the camera doesn't utilize the extras speed. The istD is noticeably slower saving RAW files than my K100D. But the card sure transfers fast from reader to PC!

Since 200x is mostly a marketing gimmick, it will be well advertised on the box. If it doesn't say 30 MB/s, it's a 133x 20 MB/s.

On anoher thread, there was a higly argumented debate aboud SHDC cards and write speed.

The conclusion seemed to be that when usingthe K 7 in video mode 720 three stars, the camera was neeeding faster write speed than what the class 6 cards where able to deliver.

See here:

http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/v...p-problem.html

So shold I go for class 10 30mb/s?
