K-x vs T1i (500D) vs D5000 ?

The Pentax K-x had officially launched. After reading alot of review and sample photos. it looks like it's a must have for me. Out of curiosity, Is there any comparison review out there between the K-x, T1i and the D5000. Since these 3 all have similar spec and features. I would like to see how well K-x does compare to the other 2. I had play with the Canon T1i, it's pretty good. thanx

Where have you read reviews - links please?

I too would be very interested - especially from comments and samples of Kx's high ISO.

I usually find the standardized test images on ImagingResource.com - the most useful for comparing one camera with another - in fact they have their own Comparometer to do this - the images I tend to download and compare are Still Life and Low Light Tests.

Of course dpReview are standardized and consistent enough to make it pretty easy to do point-by-point comparisons between cameras.

Then there is dcResource.com who always seems to have some insight.

Unfortunately when I just checked none of these three site have a review of the Kx.

I meant by just K-x review, not the 3 comparison

There aren't a lot of reviews to date but here is a good place to watch is review metablog:

1001 Noisy Cameras: pentax kx

One recent review they missed:

Pentax K-x review from TechRadar UK's expert reviews of Digital SLRs

Also lurk around the dpreview pentax SLR forum - lots of owners are turning up with opinions there.

But yeah, no big site has made a detailed review yet. That might take a while - look how long it took for - for example - dpreview to do their K-7 review.

here is a video review of the K-x, it shows some in camera features like HDR and cross processing. As right now, i think the K-x is best out of 3 DSLRs. It's better than the Canon T1i in high ISO noise level and camera features. but would like to see a real comparison between the 3 DSLRs.

Pentax K-x DSLR review Video

and this ISO performance comparison between the K-x and K-m. the K-x performs well even at ISO 6400

Check this link out - shows the specs for K-x, 500D, D5000 and A550
K-x comes across very well.

It's not a review, but it's a good place for a quick look.

It staggers me how people worry about the camera so much, IQ is a wash and so are features at this level.

Worry about the lenses it accepts and if you need Pentax's niche offerings.

Here's about the K-x vs D5000, and it can go both ways with the T1i also. K-x wins without a fight.

QuoteQuote:
The Pentax K-x won the best travel gadget of 2009 in Times Magazine and won the best beginner DSLR of 2009 in Times UK.

The Pentax K-x contains a APS-C sensor with high ISO image quality that rivals that of full frames from the Sony A900 and A850.

Pentax has used the exact same mount since early 1970's, the K-mount. This allows EVERY single lens made in the K-mount since the 70's to be able to fit and work with the Pentax K-x. There are also M42 lens mounts for the K-mount that allows every single lens ever made for Pentax SLR and DSLR system to work with the K-x. The Nikon does not boast this capability.

The Pentax K-x has a built-in image stabilization system that helps prevent blurring photos, this allows all K-mount lenses that fit the K-x to be image stabilized, even old ones from the 1970's. The Nikon D5000 does NOT have this feature and you will have to buy more expensive lenses with vibration reduction.

The Pentax K-x has a built-in screw-drive autofocusing motor, the D5000 does not. The K-x will be able to autofocus on lenses that do not have a built-in focusing motor. This allows every single autofocus lens new and old that has the K-mount to work on the K-x. The D5000 does NOT have a built-in screwdrive and cannot autofocus on most third party lenses from Sigma, Tamron, and Tokina. You will have to be the more expensive built-in autofocus motor lenses to autofocus with the D5000.

The Pentax all throughout it's lifespan has a rich history of making superb prime lenses. The Pentax FA 31 F/1.8 Limited lenses is known to be one of the sharpest lens ever made. The Pentax FA 50 F/1.4 lens is known to be one of the most affordable high quality optical lenses in the autofocus 50/1.4. With the FA 31 F/1.8, FA 43 F/1.9, and FA 77 F/1.8 Limited series lenses, there is no going wrong with Pentax lenses.

The Pentax K-x has been reviewed by many websites all over the web and has been praised by it's ability to boast so much in such little price and in such a little body. It also comes in red, white, and blue colors.

Do I need to say more? Any more facts need to be added? I already added up supporting sentences. While everybody who says Nikon this or Nikon that will just say Nikon because Nikon is Nikon. The fact is I say Pentax because Pentax has THIS and it has THAT which others don't have. Now which are you going to choose? Nikon because someone tells you that it's Nikon or are you going to choose what's BEST FOR YOU? Pentax.

T1i with the $200 instant rebate looks pretty tempting tho......

but I've defined myself as an avid amature photographer, so there's almost no reason for me to go Canon even tho they have better pro gear...

I'd agree if it weren't for SR. Also the lack of focus motor on the D5000. There's just no way I can see past that.

Having handled and shot with both the T1i and the K-x, I can say that the K-x feels way less like cheap piece of plastic...

*edited to say what I meant, instead of the opposite of what I meant.
