ZX-10 Busted?

I got a ZX-10 in an auction about 5 months ago. It was part of a package and I was really after the lens. The ZX-10 looked in pristine condition so I never bothered messing with it.

Today I stuck two new batteries in it and a roll of film. I put my F50/1.7 on it and turned it on. The first time I fired the shutter, the mirror came up and never came back down. The shutter is closed, but the mirror is up. Plus, every time I move the zoom lever or press any of the buttons on the back, a motor in the body goes "whirrr, whirrr" for about 2 seconds and stops.

Any ideas? Is it worth messing with? I gather that the ZX-10 was nowhere near the PZ, but it's a lot more automatic than my K1000 or ME Super. I might've enjoyed playing with it a little.

Repair Shop

This place/these people have always been good to me: AP-T Camera Repair. Might be worth a call; talk to Vicki or Mike-the owners (he's the tech, she runs everything else). Too bad it needs some work, it's a great camera!
