645N Viewfinder lens

I have a 645N in very good condition with a viewfinder which had been treated poorly in the past. Its coating is heavily damaged and it is impairing the vision terribly.
The damaged one is part of lens group which consists of 2 elements. (There is also an inner, independent lens which looks excellent).

A worker from a local optics firm says they can try making (molding anew) it as a single lens of about 30 diopter. What do you think?

Can I find a replacement? If yes, where?

The 645N is not that old of a camera - in general Pentax supports their equipment (especially the pro equipment ie. the 645N) for 10years after the stop of production. If you contact the nearest Pentax service facility they should be able to get the part. That being said - if Pentax can't get ahold of the part, you could try salvaging the eyepiece lens from a parts camera. Having a lens made from scratch would probably be my last choice.

I will be getting in touch with the local representative after I get my K100D back.
Its sensor was faulty and they are trying to repair or replace it. If that fails I will be writing to the Japan Headquarters. Thanks for the advice and I will let you know about my experience with the local "lens production"!

Your best bet ,IMHO , is try to locate some broken 645N for parts . On the far stretch , manual 645 camera might share the same view finder (?) .

On my part , I finally found a local mom-and-pop store that does 120 film ! Well , it is 30 minutes away but it is a good drive by California standard ! I just have to down load the photos from their site , saving time and cost for both of us .

Next project is how to use 360 flash on 645N
