excited to be using film again

im pretty excited to have the chance to be in a real darkroom again... ive pretty much been shooting exclusively digital for a while now with my k10d ... my girlfriend is taking her first photography course at the community college and will be doing b&w in the darkroom provided by the school, a very nice one might i add... i took some courses there myself. I used to shoot with a fm10, (fully manual low end budget nikon slr) ... unfortunately it got broken and haven't shot film since... I found a pentax ME and ME Super on ebay that have both been recently CLA'd and come with a 50mm lens for us to use. The darkroom has open lab days so I can go with her and "help out" lol... It will be nice to enjoy the simplicity of making test strips again after so many hours of using photoshop lol...

Nothing like a freshly CLA'ed camera, you know?

I grew up with my dad's darkroom just off my bedroom (actually, you had to walk through my bedroom to get there), and I think the chronic exposure to developer and fixer made an imprint on my adolescent brain -- I really miss it! Now all of my film has to be sent out for processing and scanning, so that I can sit down in front of Photoshop, eyes bulging and glazed...what I wouldn't give for the rhythm of the ticking timer, the noisy fan, the slow dribble of rinse water down the drain...
