Don't cut the negatives!

Jim

if you are thinking of going the professional scan route, you need to talk to the lab that does it.

I have a local shop that does scans for $1 per strip, plus $6 for the CD. What's the catch? A strip is a physical piece of film, it may be as few as one shot, or as many as 36 shots (i.e. a whole roll). What they told me is regardless of who does the processing, tell them not to cut the negatives into strips. the cost is in the load labour. it is the same per strip.

check this out with your lab

Holy cow, talk about digging up a old post. I thought this was totally dead. Thanks for the interest in this subject and all the responses. I will have to re-read all of this. It is looking like maybe the v500 might be the way to go.

Thanks
Jim
