My pretty...

Just gloating a little, here. Just received my black Spottie in the mail!

I took a chance, and picked it up from that Bay site, Buy It Now. The pics weren't too good, nor was the description.

I've been wanting a clean, black Spotmatic for some time. This one also came with a very nice 55/f1.8 lens. Overall in great shape! And, it all seems to work. I figured if I got one clean enough to warrant a CLA (ala Eric), that would be sufficient. I don't think this one needs anything!

I know, I know - this is all academic until I show some pictures. I'll work on that.

Just felt like sharing my joy at opening the box!

Does a black Spotmatic take better pictures than the regular one. Just sent off a roll from my pathetic silver Spotmatic this morning. Probably none of them were in focus and most of them were very underexposed. You know, if we handled this thread just right we could really start a great "flame" war on the board. Maybe even suck in folks who never shot a roll of film in their life. Give Adam a lot of grief. Warnings and suspensions for all hands.

Well congrats anyway, but you are right - gotta post some pictures.

Well...

I didn't mean to start any color debates! I just have been wanting a nice black one to go with my beater black one, and nice silver one.

I know, it won't take any better pics. But, I like it.

I'll post some as soon as I get them.

Congratulations indeed. METAL black cameras do look cool. And the 55 is a terriffic lens, entirely non duplicative of a 50

Very nice results, what film did you use? The first one is my fave, too, and in the 3rd
shot, I hope you righted Sarah's headstone after knocking it over, bounder! I'm
kidding, honest. Sure can't wait to see these pics when they grow up, is there
a size limit here?

Thanks for sharing, and would love to see a glamor pic of the cam, even a small one.

This is Kodak C-41 B&W film (iso 400, of course).

Wow, that first one is a crackin' shot! Nice to see the larger file. The 55/1.8 Tak is
yet another one to look for, thanks, Reed!
