My Latest Pentax Purchase: Looks Like a Good eBay Deal...

Hi, all,

I just won what looks like a nice ME Super and 50/2 M-series lens. Here it is:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=016

As a nice little bonus, the filter appears to be an original Pentax UV filter. Since I have a number of 50 and 55mm primes, I may opt to sell the 50/2 M lens. If anyone is interested, please let me know. The lens looks to be in nice shape, but I can provide further details once it arrives.

Glen

Looks like a good deal. They are out there, just have to look around. I got a pentax M50mm f/1.4 from someone in Va. They had it listed on craigslist for $5. They said it had a bent lip on the front. Turns out when I got the lens, the bent lip was on a filter on the front of the lens. The lens turned out to be in very good shape. I gave that lens and a sigma 28mm prime to a buddy of mine at work with a k10d. He had only ever used the 18-250 lens that he bought with the camera. Boy was he suprised by the performance of the prime lens!

Anyway, good luck with your purchase.

Javier: I already have an ME Super (bought a few months ago), and so this one will be my second. Indeed, I bought another because it is an excellent camera: nearly the same bay window viewfinder as the MX (0.95x vs. 0.97x), and metered manual to boot. What a fine little camera.

7.62lew: I thank you for your input. I have had less success with purchases from sellers in VA, my home state. I got a dead camera, dead flash, and a fairly overrated "mint" camera from VA.

Nesster: I thank you for your regards. I would post photos, but I dislike digital so much that I refuse to buy a digital camera (or scanner, for that matter). Thus, I have no way to post photos.

Thanks, seamuis...

This one looks like a winner. I am always a bit more confident when the seller offers a good return policy.

Hi

I had ME Super, but sold it because of its "Achilles' heel" - slack foams. They had to be replaced.
