did you read the manual? its likely the film wasn't loaded properly thus wasn't advancing. but I cant really say to be honest without seeing what you did and the camera itself.

Probably the loading the film part. It's a good idea when you load a film to turn the rewind crank backwards after the door is closed to take up the slack in the film, then when you do the pre advances to move the light struck film off the exposure window, you can see the rewind crank turning, indicating the film is moving.

Let's see
- Was the roll loaded properly?
You have to put the "tongue"inside the slit in the take up spool (or between two of those white rollers)
- Did you put fresh batteries on the camera?
2 AG13/SR76 are needed
Check if the lights on the viewfinder go on
- did you hear a clik-clack every time you took a picture?

I checked my MESuper last night, and without batteries it just works on 125X
I'm quite surprised you were able to advance the lever wothout the shutter being triggered.

I think the ME allows a fixed shutter speed of 1/100 without batteries.

If the LED's flash or flicker, then you need new batteries.

Check the negatives. Are there any frames markings, or is the whole thing one shade. If there are no frame spaces, i suspect film advance,. Next time load the film, close the back and tighten the rewind knob. When you advance the filem lever the knob will spin.
