Samsung High Def film?

Hi Folks,
While shopping at the 99 cents store I noticed they had Samsung Hi def film in 36 exposers. ISO 200...Never heard of it, but had to try a roll...
I must say that I find it very good...I shot it in many different conditions and did well...

These images where shot at F/1.4 with shutter at 30 in dark conditions hand held.

Converted to b&w in CS3

Shot through double pain glass in dark museum.
F/1.4 @ 60

Shooting into the sun, again with a Polarizer..

Ok, just a few more. Here is Chess park in Santa Monica where I have been hanging out and playing chess.
Again these where shot with a polarizer.

Maybe some of the more...chronologically challenged people on the board can explain this, but from what I gather, every man and his dog at one point released a film, back when there were more people were making film.

Jeez, there was Sakura, Konica, Agfa, and probably a few Chinese makers out there like Lucky, as well as Kodak and Fuji.

A good way to make a profit was to crank out some C-41 stuff, and get people to pay to have their own logo on it.

I'd heard that by doing exactly what you described, 3M became the #3 film manufacturer behind Kodak and Fuji. They sold tons of film thru Wal Mart, Moto Photo, etc... and never had to use any advertising dollars of their own.

They did sell some of their own stuff, and I have seen a few ads for it.

One product was an ISO 1000 slide film, I think.

I think Lucky in China is has replaced them in the "rebadged film" stakes. The guy who processes my C41 and E6 stuff, who is Kodak Pro Lab certified and loves most Kodak products, told me never to buy the consumer Kodak negative film, as it's all made in China.

Dunno if it's true but...meh, I'm a Portra man myself!

Thanks Jonson, I am absolute film fanatic and a huge fan of the grain. I guess with grain, your are either for it or against it from what I have seen.
