MZ-M Shutter Curtains

I am putting together a lightweight system that I can carry in my pocket so have purchased an MZ-M. I have no previous experience of this range.
The shutter curtains are slightly rippled (center 2) and although the shutter appears to be working fine I wondered if this was common ?
The curtains appear very flimsy but I suppose thats part of the weight saving ?
Any help appreciated.

These are good questions. I own two ZX-Ms. Unfortunately, both are loaded right now (although that is the norm), and so I cannot check on these issues right now. I do not remember seeing any ripples in the curtain. The ZX-M/MZ-M is one nice little camera.

I chose the ZX-M/MZ-M for the focus screen which is obviously designed for manual focus. Even though the camera was very inexpensive at £20.00 I need to be able to trust it.
I will try to get a refund from the seller (ebay) and find another. If in the meanwhile you get chance to check the curtains I would appreciate it.

I think you have made the right choice. It is better to be sure of your camera's operational integrity.

The MZ-M/ZX-M is a fine choice. It does not seem to have a great following, but owners think well of the camera. On-line reviews from users are quite positive. Some (especially those who have never used it) knock the camera because of its lack of TTL flash. I rarely use a flash, and so this feature would not mean much to me. I have a Pentax AF200S flash (a non-TTL flash) that I have yet to use. I have heard that flash meters (especially in good, dedicated flashes...like my 200S), are quite accurate, and, thus, good results are attainable in non-TTL systems.
