The 6x7 so often has that LOOK, and Swift1 yours has IT. A 3-d pop-out. You nail the focus.

Meanwhile... this slide film stuff isn't half bad... Sensia 100 (expired), Nikkor-N 24mm f/2.8, Nikon FE... Dwayne's scan

Nesster, slide shots are looking good. Out of curiosity, why do you send them out to Dwayne's to be processed? Looks like you're in a fairly large metropolitan area. Is it that hard to find a local guy? I've got three pro labs in my small<ish> corner of the world that do E-6, albeit two of them turned out to be dogs, the third was the charm, albeit expensive

I use them for my B&Ws, too (including the ones that follow). Had some time to kill on Friday so I went to my local photography emporium to get a flash bracket and PC connector for my K10D and my Metz 48 and thought I'd go for a walking tour of Main Street in E. Hartford.

K1000 (second copy), M28 f3.5, Tri-X

Leave it to me to find a cemetery where I didn't know there was one <g>. Caught a glimpse of some monuments between a couple buildings and I was off and running.

Yes, I could have the film done locally - but: many places send out to Dwayne's or Fuji anyway, some are dogs, the local camera store isn't always open when I have the chance to go... and the prices the best places charge

are just too much when I don't have a client/employer whose money I'm spending...

Dwayne's does a good job and is priced reasonably.

Nesster, thanks for the response. I was curious because, while I'm finally adjusting to waiting to get my film developed as opposed to the immediate gratification of digital, I can't imagine adding the time of mailing to the process. I'd probably attack my mailman daily waiting for my stuff to come back. (All that being said, I hear consistently good things about Dwayne's here...maybe I should look at a price list <g>).

Easytiger, again with the wow factor...wow. Not really an exclamation this time, but an expression of awe. Really nice capture - bravo!

For some reason I stopped getting notified of replies. Some great shots have been posted.

My first roll of Fuji Reala. Wanted to go back later in the week with a tripod, but the weather turned for the worse. 2 days of rain and wind, knocked most of the leaves off.

Thanks Frank! I'm really enjoying it. Handling is everything it's hyped to be. Unfortunately on that roll of reala I found out the hard way what the hold switch on the back was for; I had accidentally switched to manual mode and underexposed my last 6 frames. : (

Thanks Swift! It is a very sharp lens, but my copy's aperture ring is a little clunky and stiff. I've thought about switching it for a nice M model like yours for the better build, but because it's so close in focal length to my 43mm limited, I'll be replacing it with the equally sweet Voigtlander 58mm. Fast 50s are great!
