Fairly new hobby: I've been collecting Pentax film bodies for the last couple of years (to keep the prices down, mostly just the broken ones that I might be able to fix). I just finished restoring this K1000SE. Belle of the ball, pride and joy, etc.

Your cobra looks cool, and so does the tanned MX.
I've come close to buying the ME SE, every time I've come across it, simply because it looks extremely neat in the brown leatherette

Ahhhh, nostalgia. My daughter learned on this very model K1000SE w/ brown leatherette in High School Photography classes and Student Journalism. That camera knocked around in her backpack with an M50/1.7 mounted and an Everready Case for most of three years.
Alas, all the Pentaxes went to eBay and the darkrooms were converted to MacPro carrels (and Canon got in the door) - but those were fun times.
Very near mint ME Super, and a slightly dog-eared MV1 that would look a lot better if I could find a replacement top for the winder. I must have a go at photographing the rest of the film collection.
Indeed, RML - the grip does have a vertical position shutter release, DOF preview and AE-L button, which is nice. The *ist is so tiny without it, almost the size of a P&S. The grip feels good, but I think sometimes I'll just go for the little body on its own.
That is a great case for storing....it obviously did a good job..
.
My grandfather traveled quite a bit and I don't think he brought the case with him much as the MX definitely shows signs of 30 years of use. I like the used look better on this camera anyways because it was my grandfathers. There is a lot of history shown on the camera. I recently had it CLA'd and there was a problem with the mount I had repaired, now it's in perfect working condition.
I did a little research on the case and couldn't come up with anything, they seam to be rare or something. A search of ebay turned up one, but that was all I could find.
Any info others have on it would be cool.
