Hi folks.
Has anybody here had any experience with Agfa Vista 400 film?
I bought a 5 pack on ebay and my results are not good at all. I don't know if it was the processing or bad film. I will post up some full size untouched images in a minute.
Is this scanned from the photolab, or did you scan the negatives yourself? I had my local photolab botch my scans, and they looked far too grainy for 200 speed film.
To be honest, I didn't really care that they messed the scans, as I had the negatives, and could have them print the shots of my choice.
Oh, and did the seller metion anything particular about the film (storage conditions, expiry etc...)?
Thanks for the replies guys. These where processed and scanned to cd by target. Normally I get the 24 hour service, but these where one hour. Not sure if they where rushed or what, but I will try scanning the negs myself this afternoon and see what happens.
My wife used the Walgreens Studio 35 ISO400 color negative film when AFAIK it was Agfa Vista.
Her prints never looked like that. It was a very nice film - not grainy, with very natural colors.
oK, It turns out to be the scanning. While I am still not happy with the flat colors and lack of pop, atleast I can do something with it. Here are some straight scans that I did with resizing only. Some I scanned right to gray scale as well to see what they looked like.
That is a big change for the better!!!
BTW what are you scanning with? I think that you use VueScan (like I do) from a previous post.
I have a Plustek 7500i with Silverfast 6.6 Ai which is a little bit overkill but I just purchased a Konica Minolta Dimage IV new on eBay.

Thanks. Yes, I use VueScan. I have another scanner with Silverfast, though, I have not used it in a while.
