Might be needing a new film camera, please help

What pentax 35mm SLR has the following:

fully manual controls
shutter speed to 1/2000
low price/widely available

My ideal camera would basically be an MX with higher shutter speed and low price.
Does this exist or will i have to compromise to something with auto mode and a crappy build quality?
I will probably only ever use it with M 50mm 1.4

in the meantime i work on fixing my MX's light meter...

Why rule out the many great Pentax models that have a top shutter speed of 1/1000th second?
If you like fast film a neutral density filter should be in your kit anyway...

As pointed out, the 1/2000 thins the heard in a hurry to SuperProgram, and ME Super as already mentioned as well as ME F and LX. Otherwise, I think the K2, KX, MX and even the K1000 would be good options.

I've got an Me Super and a Super Program. The Super Prog was the TTL flash M camera...but did have the LCD readout viewfinder. Both use the same button up button down for speeds. The 1/2000 pure manual with dial....would be the Cosina C-1. I had one and was very tempted to keep it. Has a simple + quick meter system with LED's. Kind of a rubberized skin. Not often seen.

The CE-2 and CE-3 Memotron Chinons were M42....WITH 1/2000....with aperture priority..multi exposure,memory lock,DOF....and the CE-3 can use the WINDER which even has intervalometer. I have the winder..don't have the CE-3 Memotron yet.

Later...the ZX5 and ZX5n ..while AF with built in flash + winder..went "old school" with a shutter speed dial

I am considering the idea of ND filters as the problem i have is with aperture in sunlight. Very good idea. The LX is ideal but i dont have the money.

Im considering the Ricoh XR cameras. Any advice?

If you want 1/2000 the Ricoh XR-P would be the way to go. I bought the Chinon counter part to this camera (CP-7m) new. The Chinon has been a good camera, however, I like the fact that the XR-P has dials like a classic camera rather than the buttons. The XR-7 is another nice body but only goes to 1/1000.

Nah those two are uggerz! Going to buy a ricoh XR-20sp and ill see how it works out.
With A mode ill be able to use my digital lenses too!!!!! (is that right?)

IF you mean the DA lenses I don't know due to the lake of aperture ring. Another issue with some of the wider lenses will be the lack of coverage on the frame.

Thanks for your continued advice!!! No im fine with the vignetting. With my 55-300mm there is none on full frame anyway...
What ive just noticed though is that even though it has P and A modes it only has 2 contact pins and they are in the wrong place!

I can wholeheartedly recommend the MZ-6/ZX-L. Shutter speed 1/4000, cheap, has everything, works with all Pentax lenses including the ones without aperture ring. Been using it with a DA40, works great.

With the Ricoh you will not be able to use Av/P mode with Pentax A/F/FA lenses since, as you've noticed, the Ricoh contacts are totally different and incompatible with the KA mount. DA lenses will work ONLY on the smallest aperture so you'll be stuck shooting at f/16 or f/22 all the time. Not recommended.
