MZ-3 kinda like Nutrasweet

If the K (m42) is like sweetness, then the MZ-3 AF film is like Nutrasweet.

This unit is equipped with the data back and is shown with the FA 50mm f1.4 with an without the battery pack FG.

I was just happy to get one. I new holding out for black was likely to end up without one. I decided to stalk KEH etc. until a good used MZ-3 showed up because of the prices the MZ-S are going for. I signed up for "in transit" notification from KEH and jumped on it. Usually when I get an item notification it is already sold by the time a get their. The price and condition was good as well.

After comparing it in the test shots... do you still think that the MZ-3 is smaller than the ME F (approx super program size)?

Yes, because I have handled them all. This is what I actually said:
Just for reference, the ME Super seems large in my hands comapared to the ZX-5n and MZ-3.

Interesting as I felt that the ME series is smaller... I guess people's hands are really different

I remember my MZ-3. Ended up selling it off (broken flash spring) to fuel my entry into the digital Pentaxes. Was a great little camera though!

The black one is extremely rare. I bet it would have a really good resale price.

Edit
Here was another mentioning of it :

A used black one was sold at $300usd about 1 to 2 months ago on eBay, and it's sold at Buy It Now price. The auction didn't last for a day I think ...

If you want it, you want it. But that's approaching MZ-S price, and MZ-S are at least a little easier to find.

The Black MZ-3 is maybe approaching the MZ-S in price but its a collector thing. My MZ-3 was LN- from KEH and has their used guarantee. I could get 4 MZ-3 and battery pack for the price of 1 MZ-3. I'm actualling liking it a lot. I will likely sell my Canon EOS 10s.

It and the MZ-5n black is somewhat rare as well. As a matter of fact, I got it for less than what MZ-5n & packs are going for.

I was on the list for in transit equipment and when KEH contacted me, it was still there and I jumped on it. Thats the only time I have gotten an email and the item still be available. I had been pondering the MZ-6 (Zx-L), MZ-5n, MZ-3, MZ-6, and PZ -1p and decided based on age, features and price that holding out for a MZ-3 was the way I wanted to go. Plus it is less common. This is going to be my main AF film body replacing the Canon EOS 10s. In fact, those are my only AF film bodies.
