A broken MX w/ a mysterious lens ...

I don't really need another MX camera, especially a broken one, but I was kinda interested in the mysterious lens attached:

The seller didn't say what lens it was, just described the camera had a missing rewind knob, so it's sold for parts or repair. I didn't really check or ask what lens it was, just snapped it at buy-it-now price. I guess for total of $40 including shipping cost, I got nothing to loose, even for a broken MX alone.

So what lens do you think it is? I'm guessing it's the K50/1.2 ...

Lucky.....
Even if it's not a K501.2, $40 for an MX is a deal, broken or not. At least based on the pictures.

But, I think you're right. That looks like a 1.2, only because I don't see an "M" after Pentax and it's too small to be a 1.7. At worst it's a 1.4, so for $40 still a good deal

Looks like you scored :-)

'Course, it'd be funny if that lens was used only for the product shot as a bate & switch, and the actual item came with another, much cheaper lens (50/2? :-).

Well, funny for ME, that is, you lucky friggin' bastard!!!!!

The face of the lens looks to fairly clearly say "SMC Pentax 1:1.2..."

Congratulations!

Now go down to the corner convenience store and buy a few lottery tickets. Hurry before it wears off.

I'm jealous... I just got myself a somewhat dinged up 50/1.2 and it cost way more than yours...

Thanks guys The package is on the way, I've already got spare part to fix the rewind knob. Will report back when they reach here (probably in 2 weeks).

Good stuff isn't being sold the way it was a few years ago, either. Backward compatibility has its drawbacks if you want to buy old lenses.
