Less and less film stuff at my favorite store...

This last weekend I made the trip out to my favorite camera store with the plan to buy a couple of one gallon jugs to mix up a batch of Diafine.

Well, the store has cut back their darkroom supplies to almost nothing.

Yes, it was a sad day.

So any ideas where to find one gallon jugs in Vancover or the lower mainland?

Anyone have a favorite store that still carries darkroom supplies?

Thanks for the link, I'd forgotten about them. I'll try them this weekend.

Douglas,

HOW did you get your local store to increase there film stuff? Of the tree I can walk to, non carry darkroom supplies. But they all carry Pentax!

Beau Photo is not open on the weekend, just Monday to Friday.

It's getting harder and harder for the camera stores to even get darkroom supplies delivered
I've heard that the trucking companies insurance companies just don't want them hauling chemicals.
I honestly can't blame them either, the way some news casts make every chemical sound like a hazardous good... after a spill.

If your store accepts UPS deliveries they can get chemicals.

Thanks for the offer. All I am looking for is a pair of 1 gal jugs so that I can mix up my Diafine.

I might just resort to buying a couple of gallons of distilled water and using that.

I was also thinking of picking up a changing bag. At the moment, I am renovating and my "dark room" is without a door.

Anyhow, I have some days off coming up. I'll check them out during a weekday, and get to the bottom of why they carry no Pentax!

Beau Photo is more of a supply store than a camera store. They would not be my first choice if I was in the market to buy a new Pentax camera. Kerrisdale Cameras is better if you want new Pentax gear and they have a good selection of used Pentax stuff.

Beau has lots of darkroom supplies, pro studio lighting, light tables, bags, tripods, filters and a huge selection of film. They will also order items for you that they do not normally stock, like a linear polarizer and so on.

Phil

PS I forgot I bought my Pentax Lupe from Beau Photo, so they do carry some Pentax products.
