As most of us know, the last rolls of Kodachrome have been produced and it is no longer generally available. Many of us were able so secure a few rolls from the final lot (me ) and others of us have previously purchased stashes in the 'fridge. So...In the spirit of nostalgia, I offer this thread as a home for those last few Kodachrome shots to go through Pentax cameras.
To start things off, here are a few shots from my first two rolls, back from Dwayne's and scanned yesterday. (Sorry...no red shirts...just kidding...)
The Greens Of Summer Pentax KX, Tamron 28/2.5 02B, Kodachrome 64
Deep, Deep Blues Pentax KX, KMZ MC Zenitar 16/2.8 Fisheye, Kodachrome 64
I just got myself 6 rolls of Kodakchrome 64 for $2.50 ea. Having never used it before I wasn't sure what to expect but if I can get shots like your I will be very happy. I haven't loaded any in the camera yet because it has been a little dreary lately but I am looking forward to taking some shots with it.

Thanks!
That is a very good price for Kodachrome. I paid almost $10 per 36 exposure roll for mine. As to what to expect:
Extremely fine grain (technically no grain)
High color saturation
Superb color fidelity for daylight exposures
Very fade resistant
May be difficult to scan
Picky about exposure
Loss of reciprocity with long exposures (1/15s and longer) resulting in color shift to the blue end
Here is a link to the technical data sheet that details everything you might want to know about K64 including the correction factors for long exposures:
I've found Kodachrome to have a very narrow exposure latitude. Even half a stop off, and you can tell. I'll miss it, but I think I can live with Velvia quite comfortably.

Yep...very little exposure latitude and definitely balanced for daylight. A little bit of shadow and its blue, blue, blue!
I really like #1. People often associate Kodachrome with intense reds and blues, but it is the rendition of wood and earth tones that I think is particularly good.
Here are a couple from my last Kodachrome outing. The scans were done at the time of processing by Dwayne’s. Low resolution cheapos that do no justice to the
original slides.
Am I sad to see Kodachrome go, yes and no. Yes as the film is truly unique with a different colour palette from today’s slide film and no for the four week processing turnaround.
