Make sure you have fresh batteries installed in your transmitter and receiver. The batteries that come with the triggers are for testing purposes.

Having said that, I must be lucky. I've had the cactus triggers for, I don't know, 6 months or more, am using the original batteries, and my cactus triggers perform nearly flawlessly. I get the occasional misfire, but for $30 who cares? (Although I would not rely on them if I were a pro--I would spend the money on Pocket Wizards).

BTW, I don't use Pentax flashes-I have a Promaster 5250dx and a Nikon SB-24. So, sorry, I can't help you troubleshoot with respect to the pentax flash. But do try fresh batteries.

I'll echo the above advice - try it with new, good-quality batteries. My V2s arrived a few days ago and behaved exactly as you described - ok at 1/30 but not synching at anything above that. With new batteries it's good to 1/180.

Edit: Here's a link to one of the modifications - Shutter Fug: E-bay Receiver Hack . This is for the "studio" version of the triggers. I've done this mod with the studio triggers and it works ok with the AF360 and K10D.
