I already mentioned that K-30 has issues with SDHC cards, specifically Transcend SDHC 8GB 10 class worked flawlessly on the Kr and K-30 signals a fault, doing a little bit mistake occurs and after stopping and rebooting the appliance again for some time, SanDisk Ultra 16 GB SDHC (Class10) works flawlessly, it seems that K-30 has a bug on the compatibility of memory cards, this problem has not been resolved with the latest upgrade, I'd prefer a solution in the next upgrade, and not to ignore the problem Pentax
I have a new K30 with a Lexar Platinum 16 gb SDHC 200x class 10, and have memory card errors 6 times already, ranging from unable to store to just plain memory card error. I have removed the card, reinserted and all is well, till next time. It's usually when I'm asking more from the camera, beyond AUTO mode. Not sure if it's the card or the new K30. I think it's the card, as this K30 is a replacement for one I had last week. I have another AD card here that is only 100x, will try that.

Tried a Panasonic 8gb card without issue, just ordered and received a new SanDisk Extreme SDHC i Class 10 16GB card, and will try it on the K-30. Have not updated the firmware as of yet.

I think the problem could be with the 32gb SDHC cards.
I bought one samsung 32gb SDHC card and one Scandisk 16gb SDHC card.

The 32gb gives errors but the 16gb does not. Really sucks.

I've been using an 8GB Transcend card since I got my K-30 at Christmas, shot about 500 photos so far and I've had this error 3 times now so not very often but it's the first camera I've had that has ever exhibited an SDcard related problem and if I miss a photo opportunity that might never happen again I won't be happy - I'll have to try another SDcard to see if it still happens.

I send the faulty Lexar card for warranty replacement and i'm using 2y old Sony 8GB from my P&S, so far I took 1500 images with it without an error, so it was caused by card. Will see how new Lexar would perform, it is probably wiser to stick with smaller cards and have 2-3 of them...

Since upgrading to firmware 1.02, both of my memory cards have been rendered useless. I received my K-30 with firmware 1.01 from a friend practically new as he wanted a K-5. Since last week, no pictures will save, only video.

Mem cards: SanDisk Extreme 16gb Class 10
Kingston 4gb Class 4

Both have been formated in-camera several time to no avail.

Awesome.....

I bought an 8gb Sandisk card when I got my K30 over a month and a half ago. I'm around 3500-3750 shots with it. I got a "memory card error" only once, a week or so ago. I just turned off the K30, pulled out the card to look at it to see if something was wrong, put it back in, and it worked fine. It has never come up again.

However, I bought 2 Lexar Platinum II 32GB SDHC cards that were on sale a couple of weeks after I got the K30. Tried one, every 20 or 30 shots it would either give me a "memory card error" or "unable to store image" message. The error came up at random. I gave it a chance and took around 200 pics with one of the cards. The error kept randomly popping up, so I returned the cards (the store would only take the unopened one back).

I think the problem lies with the Lexar cards.
I think it's Lexar too. I bought this exact card and get the same errors every 10 shots or so. I'm returning the card.

i also have a similar problem with my new k-01. unable to store image error. i am using 8gb lexar sd card, but have the same problem with other sd cards too. turnin off and on the camera solves the problem for now. but missed shots are gone. i updated the firmware and formatted the sd card in the camera, but did not solve the problem. as far as i know there is at least one more friend having the same problem. does anyone have any idea?

Can someone confirm what 32GB or 64GB memory cards work with Pentax K-30. Sony SDHC 1 32 GB gives me "memory card error". It works on everything else K110D,K200D,K-r, laptop, memory card reader. I don't expect Pentax to ever fix the issue, so the only solution is to buy compatible SD card, if there is any.

Both should work. Try updating your camera's firmware and formatting the card in camera.

I've got three 32GB cards, a Sandisk Extreme 45mb and 2 "MyMemory" branded class 10 cards. All work fine in my K30, and have done for the past 7 months. I've also got a number of Transcend 16GB cards and they all work as well. Currently running firmware 1.02
