Thump sound on video

Hi

I just recorded a couple of videos with my K5 and in all of them i hear this regular thump sound when i play it in Youtube. Is there something i am forgetting to do when i record the video?

Thanks!

Was the train electric? The contacts often bounce up and down and spark as they do so. I imagine that could affect electrical equipment close by.

Do videos made off the train have the noise?

Try a different sd card? That is pretty weird...it's almost like it's recording a full volume spike....or you have bad memory...

I think the issue is in Youtube, since when i play the videos in my laptop the sound is fine, only when i view the video on the YT website does that thumping noise appears. Anything to do with the file processing?

I hear a distinct 1Hz crack, or snap through the entire movie.

En tunne olosuhteita, mutta eiköhän se ole normaalia tausta melua. Melu on erinlaista jos se äänitetään lisä mic jossa on suodatin. Ja äni on aina suodatettava ja käsiteltävä vilmiä leikatessa.

Try a different player. I also get a weird cyclic sound in the background using DIVX-player, but not if I use windows media-player.

I also think its codec-related. I hear this noise on my bluray-player, who can only play the audio, not the video.
When I encoded it on my coputer, there was no noise.

I know this may not be helpful, but I never record sound off a DSLR for this exact reason.

You are definitely on to something there.
DragonPlayer does *not* click
VLC does click
Reducing its filesize by re-rendering it with kdenlive also introduced clicks.
What OS/player is OP using?

I had the problem "solved" by saving the video on a different file format than the one originally recorded in the camera.

If i upload drectly from the camera to Youtube, the thump sound appears, but if i upload the modified file it does not, so i do think it has something to do with the codec.

I have the same problem with you.
I used k-5 and sony's DV record videos in the same situation. But only video of K-5 has this kind of noise.

Hi,
I think i've got something interesting about that.
I've got the same problem with my K5, here is a video with the same noise. I've send the original video file directly to youtube. And if i read the file with windows (XP pro 32bits) & VLC, the sound is here.
BUT,
When i watch it with my macbook, no more crack sounds !
So, i try to convert the video thru Quicktime, and now, i have a proper file than i can read on PC without that sound.
I'm sending it on youtube, so you can check by yourself.

Here is the video with the crack noise :

And here, the video converted on a Mac, without any crack sound :
