A couple of shots from behind the glass. K5, Sigma 50-200, ISO 6400. Lots of cropping. The $160 Sigma did ok, but a constant f/2.8 would really be helpful for sharp hockey shots!

Our U17 team travelled 700 km up north for another match in the Finnish championships in football. Me included, with my camera gear. All shots with K-5 + Tamron 70-200 f2.8. Unlike at home, still some snow banks around the pitch - but then again the place is a bit further north than Fairbanks, Alaska ;D

0-2 victory and pos. 1 in the championship table. And I forgot to swithtch the SR off again which results a bit softer images when shooting sports like this. When will I learn...

Are they nuts? Well in 2013 we have a competition for womens soccer Belgium and The Netherlands and then the biggest travel is for SC Heerenveen when they go to Belgium they will have some 5 hour bustrips ahead.

Let's shoot some hoops! Nice set!

It is the Finnish championship and Finland is 1300 km long, so it's kinda nice that it's only about half the way through
And we'll be doing the same trip again in August, which I'm really NOT looking forward to. However, my mission is to document the entire season of this team, so I guess it'll be another 10 + 10 hours in the bus.

I took this picture last Sunday at a synchronized swimming practice. NO CASE, just prefocus and dipped the camera into the water and took some shots.
Pentax K-5, DA* 16-50, ISO800, F5.6, 1/1000

I did find it difficult to get a good edit. Weather was a little gray so there wasn't much sun. Any tips appreciated

You can't....it's got a Watermark! LOL.

Thanks guys, yes, it's for real. I wish I could have gotten someone to take a pic of me while taking this pics. I'll do it next time. The camera was just half to full submerged a few seconds, and each time after taking the pics I would dry it just in case. I didn't soom in or out while underwater. I was on the edge (outside) of the pool and just dipped the camera for the pics.
I do find it very hard to get the colors right while editing, so sorry about the editing!. Next time I'll shoot raw and maybe that can help a bit.

Here's another one.

Why not just put it in a plastic bag with a filter glued into a hole? Cheaper to make than risking the camera.

A Pentax shooter with very nice results. Talk about pushing the limits of your gear.

Yes the camera (and lens) still works. Didn't have a plastic bag with me that day. I've done it before and if you are quick and dry it after taking the pics then nothing happens.
