P67 - 45mm f/4 or 55mm f/4?

I've been shooting with my 67 for a while now, and while I absolutely love the 105 2.4 and it produces great images every time (as long as I don't mess up ) it's often too long for what I want to shoot. Heres the dilemma. I love wide. Is 45mm too wide? I don't think there is such thing as too wide, but maybe it is when using it with the 67.

There is also the difference in price. I plan on buying from KEH in BGN (always been great) The 45mm is $349 and the 55m is $245. Is it worth the price difference?

I would appreciate any input you may have

Thanks,

Tyler

The 55mm at KEH that's $245 is not the latest 55, and they differ optically. The newest version is the best, and that BGN grade is $299. If you go with the 55mm, get the latest version. But, if you like really wide, I don't think the 55 will do it for you, as it is about a 28mm in 35mm terms.
Many rave about the 45mm, including Ron Boggs, a talented photographer, and frequent contibutor here, but I had two copies and both were somewhat soft, so beware of sample variation. That's the great thing about buying from KEH, you've got two weeks to try it out and make sure your copy is sharp.

Thanks for the replies. The 45mm is looking more and more likely.

The 45mm is a winner and you might find someday that there is actually a need for a lens just a bit wider! I would suggest getting the 45 but also save your money and get the 55-100 zoom. Yes, that would mean selling your 105 once you get the zoom, (that is unless you need the fast speed). The zoom is similar in sharpness to the 55mm latest.
